Summer 2026 Updates

When I was younger, I often heard my older friends and family reference how fast time flies. It didn't hit me as hard back then - this year, however, I feel like the days, weeks, and months are just flying by.

There's a theory and concept that the older you get, the more reference time you have against your past, and the passage of time seems to speed up as a result of this gap. It would explain why, while in grade school, the summers were "endless", and by the time school started again I felt LONG overdue to start learning again.

This all reminds me how important it is to follow and live your dreams and commit to yourself and your goals. This summer / year are no exceptions!

For example, this year I've had several guests reach out to the show for a discussion - an awesome development and indicative that the discussions are garnering an audience and interest beyond my circle of influence. This has been incredibly insightful and motivating, and I look forward to meeting and speaking with more creatives down the road.

Spinning-off the podcast to its own site was another decision I made this year that has really given clarity to the brand. Still tethered to the music catalog, the podcast has its own space to breath, and the TKFM Podcast rebranding gives it the freedom to move beyond just the musical / movie-making aspect of the earlier shows into a space where ALL creatives and stories are welcome and discussed.

In addition, I've spun off the YouTube content to it's own channel here:

Social media if fun in that you need to explore algorithms and audience building unique to each platform. If my sarcasm in the last sentence was lost in this simple text, know that I was laying it on mighty thick lol! Frustrations and constant changes and pivots from platforms aside, I knew that if I wanted to generate REAL organic growth on YouTube for the podcast it needed its own space, too. So I linked all the legacy episodes to the new channel, publish all future shows to the new channel, and will be cleaning up thumbnails and branding on legacy shows for consistency across all episodes.

Finally, this Spring and Summer introduced new content to the overall podcast: TKFM Quick Hits.

These mid-length episodes are geared toward viewers looking for more than the shorts / reels that are 60 seconds or less - but not the full episode. Something with a little more "Meat on the Bone". Luckily, my recording platform Riverside doesn't disappoint, and helps me contextually find segments that warrant their own mini-video. I've made these a staple of the release schedule, assigning them to Tuesdays at 11:11 am. (for reference, I release the full videos Thursdays at the same time. It is a numerological fascination of mine, and just feels like the right thing to do!)
